With changing demographic structures, India is witnessing a progressive and steady rise in its elderly population. Ensuring a dignified, secure, and physically supportive ecosystem for senior citizens requires a specialized, compassionate, and formally qualified workforce. To seamlessly bridge the structural gap between certified geriatric care professionals and families seeking dependable care, the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, has launched SHATAYU.

The “SHATAYU” (Senior Holistic Care Assistance and Training For Your Utility) Dashboard was launched during the National Workshop on “Creating a Well-Functioning Care Economy”, on 22nd May, 2026 to make care services for senior citizens across the country more accessible, effective, and streamlined. This dashboard will provide information on trained elderly caregivers (Geriatric Caregivers) available in various states and districts nationwide, thereby facilitating better care and support services for senior citizens. Developed with a simple workflow and user-friendly interface, the purpose of this platform is to ensure easy access to services. ‘SHATAYU’ functions as a centralized, transparent national Geriatric Caregiver Dashboard and Directory. It operates as an unmediated link connecting individual citizens directly with professionally trained, certified and geographically mapped geriatric caregivers across various states and districts throughout India.

If you need assistance finding a caregiver, you can fill out a simple request form on the dashboard. Your preferred district, the type of care needed, and your contact details are all that is needed. Once verified via a mobile One-Time Password (OTP), your request is automatically routed to or available caregivers in your district to contact you directly.

Yes. When submitting your service requirements via the "Callback Request" interface, you can specify your requirement as full time or hourly basis arrangements. This ensures your request is channeled exclusively to professionals equipped for full-time domestic or institutional residency.

The dashboard does not dictate commercial rates or service fees. Financial remuneration terms, working hours and leave schedules are to be discussed and settled independently between the hiring family/facility and the caregiver.

Once you have submitted your application, you can monitor its status through the Track Your Enrollment menu. After your application has been successfully reviewed and approved, your profile will be listed on the Shatayu Dashboard.

  • Geriatric Care Provider: Advanced holistic care, basic physiological monitoring, and emergency handling.
  • Geriatric Caregiver (Institutional & Home Care): Bedside mobility, daily life assistance, and routine hygiene mapping.
  • Wellness Therapist(Elderly): Therapeutic rehab, cognitive engagement, and healthy-ageing therapies.
  • Elderly Care Companion: Non-medical emotional companionship, psychological mapping, and social integration.

The One-Time Password (OTP) verification layer ensures that the phone number provided is valid, active, and belongs to a genuine seeker. This protects listed caregivers and training centers from spam, fraudulent requests, or prank calls.

Yes, the dashboard operates under strict government cybersecurity and data privacy regulations. Your data is encrypted and only shared with the relevant, authorized or verified caregivers assigned to respond to your specific callback request.
